Printing labels in house changes the maths on short runs. Instead of ordering thousands to justify a print run and storing what you do not use, you print what you need when you need it, and artwork changes cost nothing.

The Pro1050 is OKI’s roll-fed label press. It prints CMYK plus white at up to 1200 x 1200dpi, at speeds up to six inches per second, onto rolls up to eight inches in diameter on a three inch core. USB or network connection, Windows and Mac.

White toner is the specification that matters. It lets you print onto clear, metallic and coloured label stock with an opaque base beneath the colour, which is what makes no label look packaging, foil effects and dark substrates possible. Without white, those jobs go back out to a trade printer.

Duty cycle is around 160,000 A6 labels a month, so this is a machine for regular production.

Choosing between this and a Pro 9? Self-adhesive labels in quantity suit roll-fed. Cards, sleeves and anything needing folding or trimming suit sheet-fed.
